Will the plugin work on any WordPress website
Yes, it should do. We have developed the Simple Reviews Widget to be compatible with all WordPress themes. However, if you do find an issue with the plugin not working on your website please contact us.
Can I change the font on the widget?
Yes you can. Just visit the core plugin settings page and choose the same font that is used in your theme. Currently all Google font libraries are supported. If your theme uses a custom font that is not hosted on Google Fonts you can either contact us for custom work or hire a developer to add some CSS to your website to support it.
Can I change the widget colours?
Yes, the widget is completely customisable. Visit Appearance > Widgets and adjust the widget settings to match the colours on your website.
Can I add the widget to any page of my website?
Yes, essentially. You can add the reviews widget on any page of your WordPress website that has a widgetised area.
Can I adjust the scrolling speed of the widget?
Yes, you can. Simply visit the plugins settings page and choose a value between 3000 (3 seconds) and 10000 (10 seconds).
Can I show different reviews for different categories?
Yes. You can setup categories for your reviews via the WordPress dashboard, then include the category ID on the widget settings screen.
Can I exclude reviews from a specific widget?
Yes. You can exclude reviews via the widget settings screen by adding a comma separated list of review ID’s.
I already have Schema on my website. Can I turn it off?
Yes. Visit the plugin settings page and tick the checkbox to enable or disable Schema.
Does Simple Reviews Widget guarantee stars in Google search results?
Unfortunately we can’t guarantee your star rating swill show in Google. However, all the correct Schema markup is included in the widget so if Google does decide to show you star ratings the correct code is already implemented.
Why don't stars show under my home page URL in Google?
Google will only ever show stars on your inner pages – not your home page. This is perfectly normal.
Can I add the widget using a shortcode?
No, not yet. We will be developing a shortcode on future releases.
